Quietly, with no hint or fanfare, TEA changed the STAAR English I and II End of Course exams. They eliminated the short answer response and added more multiple choice.
The reason: This change is an effort to better align with STAAR grades 3-8 assessments, and does not affect the overall difficulty of the test, nor does it affect the passing standard.
This is huge!
Revised blueprints and schematics have been posted on the TEA STAAR English and Writing Resources page.
